NEW MDT-860 Terminal

MDT-800
MDT-800 and MDT-850 - Click on picture to view full size

User Programmable Terminal/Controller
The versatile MDT-800 and MDT-850 terminals allows designers to very quickly bring GPS and GSM applications to fruition. The MDT-800 and MDT-850 units contain a 16 bit microprocessor, 128K or 832K of program memory, 10K of RAM and 32K of NVRAM, also 128K of battery backed SRAM on the MDT-850 combined with a backlit LCD display (160 x 80 pixel, 4 grey levels) and 13 pushbutton keys. There are also two serial ports (RS232), typically allowing connection to both a GSM unit such as the MC35T and a GPS unit. The whole unit runs from a norm
al car power supply, and is CE and 'E' marked.

The new MDT-860 adds an even more stylish housing, backlit keys, a larger display and 256K of battery-backed memory. This device will be available from August, please contact the sales office to reserve your unit or SDK now. A preliminary datasheet is downloadable via this link.

Development is achieved by the use of the MDT-800 or MDT-850 SDK (Software Development Kit), and a 'C' compiler for the Mitsubishi M16 (M30620) processor (three month trial version is available to download from the web at no cost). The SDK includes download utilities, libraries, example programs and your first MDT-800 terminal, allowing product development to start immediately for a very low cost.

Demonstration Program A free demonstration program is available for customers using the MDT terminals and can be downloaded here.
Production Test Progam For customers using the MDT-800 or MDT-850 and requiring a production test program, code can be downloaded here.
SDK Update for ISP SDK Update - If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP and are having trouble with the ISP utility, then download this replacement ISP.INI file.
New SDK V2.4.1 SDK V2.4.1 is available now to registered TDC customers, and is downloadable from here.

MDT-800 & MDT-850 Software Development Kit
MDT-800 SDK

The Software Developers Kit allows application developers to create their MDT application in a Microsoft Windows development environment, it has been designed to let the applications engineer concentrate on application development rather than low level, microprocessor specific configuration.

The PC development environment uses the Borland™ C++ Builder v5 Windows development kit to develop MDT firmware applications that can be debugged and developed using its rich integrated development environment. When tested and de-bugged the application can be cross-compiled with the Mitsubishi M16 ANSI C Compiler to create the flash-upgrade binary image for the MDT.

The NAVMAN® Developers Kit expands the possibilities of the MDT to allow:
Full control of MDT peripherals (serial ports, keypad buzzer, backlight etc.).
Access to flash memory and EEPROM.
High level access to graphic display with shape and image display capabilities. FAQ on displaying graphics available here
In circuit programming utility for on board flash memory, via the serial port.
Font editor to support multiple font types and sizes and text display functions.
Communications protocol libraries (NMEA GPS etc.).
No royalties for use with MDT.
