The competition is open to all students under 18 years of age and in full-time education, in Hampshire and Berkshire.

The Competition Question

Video cameras are part of our everyday lives and now new technology is allowing everyday machines to see for the very first time. TDC anticipate that by 2010 there will be many video cameras built into every vehicle on the road. We want you to tell us....

How many video cameras will be built into the car of the future?

To get you started, maybe a camera will be used instead of the rear view mirror, maybe one would be used to help you
park etc. See how many uses for a video camera you can think of in the car of the future.

We would like you to list the position of each camera, its function and its benefit to the driver/passengers or other road users. You may choose to add drawings to illustrate your entry. Your entry must be no longer than two A4 pages.

Prizes, sponsored by OmniVision, Siemens & Natwest, will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 2 runner-up places. Prizes will be presented to the winners at the TDC premises in October.

Students have until Tuesday 30th September 2003 to send their suggestions to TDC. The judges will be looking for ideas that show creativity and commercial viability.
